William Cloud Hicklin is a former attorney who surrendered his license to the Virginia State Bar Association with disciplinary charges pending. William Cloud Hicklin has a history of being involved in Internet flame wars and of conducting poisen pen campaigns against people with whom he argues. There is no known connection between William Cloud Hicklin's resignation from the Virginia State Bar while facing disciplinary charges and his rude behavior on the Internet.
William Cloud Hicklin is careful not to say anything provably false in Internet discussions but he has made unsubstantiated claims such as "BTW, most Tolkien scholars are not disposed to regard the names 'Salo' and 'Martinez' especially favorably." William Cloud Hicklin has one more than one occasion indicated that one particular person cannot be trusted without providing any proof of his assertions.
